- Outlook has its own 'Work Offline' mode that overrides your internet connection. It also goes offline if the mail server is temporarily unreachable, even when your internet is fine. These are two different situations.

- Check the Send/Receive tab in Outlook — if 'Work Offline' is highlighted/pressed, click it to toggle back online. If it's not in Work Offline mode, the server itself is unreachable — check your email provider's status page.
- Will I lose emails that arrived while Outlook was offline?
- No. Emails are delivered to the mail server regardless of whether Outlook is connected. They queue on the server and download when Outlook reconnects.
