- Yes — but it lives inside the Play Store app, not your browser. To run a real Google Play Protect scan: open the Play Store → tap your profile icon → tap Play Protect → tap Scan.
- Should I install the app they're suggesting?
- Never. The app being recommended is itself the threat. Scam sites use Google's branding to make a malicious app look official. Only install apps from the Play Store after researching them.
- How do I tell a fake Google warning from a real one?
- Real Google security warnings appear in the Play Store (Play Protect), in your notification shade from the Google Play Protect service, or in Android Settings. They never appear as web pages in your browser.
- I already installed the app — what do I do?
- Uninstall it immediately via Settings → Apps. Run a Play Protect scan. If the app asked for device admin permissions, go to Settings → Security → Device Admin Apps and revoke them before uninstalling.
